CAPTURED OR CAPTIVATED? PDF Print

“Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made . . .” Genesis 3:1

What was true then is true today.
Satan, in the form of a serpent, was able to effectively deceive those with arguably the closest physical relationship mankind has ever experienced with God.

This tells us something that we would do well to take notice of.  If Adam and his bride can succumb to the deceiver’s voice – then how susceptible are we?

Obviously “Christ within” is our only hope.  But we all know by personal experience that we possess the unique ability to ignore the Master’s voice.

This leaves us open to the subtlety of the enemy.
Within our “American Dream” culture, there are so many ways to become captivated by lessor kingdoms.

Our Apostle Paul urges us to beware . . .
“See to it that no one takes you captive . . .”  Colossians 2:8A (ESV)

Freedom must be carefully guarded.
