BE ON GUARD PDF Print

What we as Christians often fail to grasp is that we have a real enemy who is in constant and continuous motion.   Meaning that he’s always actively involved in deceiving and destroying.  In John 10, Jesus calls this enemy a thief.  A thief with a purpose – to kill, steal, and destroy.  Using this motif allows us deeper insights into what we’re up against from this tireless foe . . . A thief is subtle, deceptive, quiet, using subterfuge to accomplish his objectives.  Understand that this enemy of ours will use any and all means at his disposal to bring about your downfall.

As Christ-followers, we must be on guard against allowing this adversary to use us.  When we lead with hate rather than our love, we become tools in his hand.  It’s when we neglect others rather than connecting with others that we give him ground in our lives which causes damage to our witness.  Living according to God’s precepts, we make ourselves available to God's protection and unavailable for the enemy’s use.

“The Lord is my Rock and my Fortress and my Deliverer, my God, my Rock, in whom I take refuge, my Shield, and the Horn of my salvation, my Stronghold.”  Psalms 8:2  ESV

He is our protection from the enemy!
