REBUILDING PDF Print

August 12th the rain came down . . . August 13th the water came in and the tears began to flow.  Since that day and the subsequent days that followed so much has changed.

We’ve all learned how to gut out or mud out (knowledge we could have lived without).  We’ve gained skills we never wanted – while haggling with people that held our futures in their hands.

It’s been a rough three months.  But we’ve gained during this time as well.

We’ve gained experiential knowledge of God’s grace.

We’ve gained new relationships with wonderful folks from all over the south who came to help!

We’ve gained a fresh determination to build something much more than buildings.

The flood swept so much away . . .  so much so that if we’re not careful we’ll fail to notice what it brought.

Father, help us not only to rebuild but to build something more permanent with You as the foundation.  To trust not in horses and chariots but in You and Your might!  Refresh us as we labor, increase our love as we help our neighbors.  Help us to follow You and You alone!
