STUMBLING PDF Print

“Oh that my ways may be steadfast in keeping Your statutes!”  Psalms 119:5

Stumbling has become a way of life for me lately.  Due to an ‘09 leg surgery I don’t always feel the floor as well as I should.  Not to mention obstructions!  Now days they’ve added enough medicine to my daily regime that I could start a small pharmacy.  All of this has just made me more clumsy – I freely admit it!  But know this... when I stumble, I fall with style!

Stumbling spiritually is a dangerous condition to find oneself in.  It occurs when we take our eyes and therefore our hearts off of the Word and will of God and consider our way to be sufficient.  The psalmist here asks for consistency.  He pleads for the ability to remain focused.  This prayer should be echoed by every believer today.

In a culture where so many are casting aside pivotal portions of God’s divine Word – or rejecting the Bible outright in its entirety – we are too often left struggling for clarity from those promoting their own agendas rather than grappling with divine truth.

“Oh that MY WAYS may be steadfast...”

Know this, everyone is personally responsible for their own way.  May we be surefooted in seeking the truth as we commit ourselves to walking with the Lord of the undiluted word of God.
