Plan of Salvation

First, it is crucial that you realize – God loves you. So many doubt the capacity of God to love them because of their failures – please know we have all failed.  Our Lord's desire is to be in a relationship with you, here's how you can begin:

The gospel writer John, wrote of the amazing capacity for God to love, he states, "For God so loved the world. . ." (John 3:16)  When he wrote the word world he meant everyone.  God's love is limitless and however far you think you've removed yourself from the possibility of being loved by such a holy God – think again!  If you will just begin to speak to Him and yearn for His presence, you'll find that He's been right there with you all along.

John further writes, that because of this enormous capacity to love – that God gave!  "For God so Loved the world that He gave. . ." (John 3:16)  Gave what?  He gave that which we needed the most, a way to Him.  He gave His son!  A perfect sacrifice, a spotless Lamb, to pay our debt to God.  Did I mention we have a debt to pay?

This debt is our sin.  We're all guilty of doing something wrong in the eyes of God.  The Christian writer Paul relates this truth to us this way.  “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."  (Romans 3:23)  That's right, we all fall short – all – without exception.  That would be hard news were it not for the fact of God's great love for us.  That's why He gave!  Without His giving us this gift of His Son, there would be no one worthy enough, strong enough, good enough, to pay our sin-debt owed to God.  Jesus did this by living a sinless life and then sacrificing Himself (dying) on an executioner's cross on our behalf.  Three days later God raised Jesus from the grave and in so doing He conquered death.  So, as John writes, "God so loved the world (that's us) that He gave His only begotten Son (that's Jesus) that whosoever believeth in Him (Jesus) should not perish but have everlasting life."  You may be asking, "How is this accomplished, how is this believing stuff done?"

I would start by speaking to God, we call this praying.  Sharing with Him your recent discovery that you are a sinner and in order for you to have a relationship with Him you need to be forgiven.  Did I mention that forgiveness is necessary?  That Christian writer who I spoke of earlier, Paul, told us that we were all sinners – right?  But He goes on to say in His letter to Christians in first century Rome that the payment for their sins and ours is death.  What it means is that we will be eternally separated from God upon our deaths unless we seek forgiveness through the surrendering of our lives (following) to Jesus Christ.  Here's how he puts it, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

If you’re suddenly wondering, “How do I surrender to Christ?”  Let me direct your attention to some further words written by Paul.  He shares in what we call the tenth chapter of that letter to the Romans some very helpful hints on how to do what you’re wondering how to do.  He writes, "If you will confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." (Romans 10:9,10)

God loves you passionately!  That's understood in the giving of His only Son so that you and I can have life and a way to Him in heaven.  If you would like to know more please contact us through this web site or call 225-275-3382 and we would love to share with you more about how God has made a way especially for you to know Him and experience Him in His fullness!

God Bless You,
Dale
