SO MANY QUESTIONS Print

“Am I not as free as anyone else?  Am I not an apostle?  Haven’t I seen Jesus our Lord with my own eyes?  Isn’t it because of my work that you belong to the Lord?  Don’t we have the right to live in your homes and share your meals?  Don’t we have the right to bring a believing wife with us as the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers do, and as Peter does?  6. Or is it only Barnabas and I who have to work to support ourselves?”  1 Corinthians 9:1, 4-6 (NLT)

So many questions!

Do you think Paul is having an identity crisis?

No probably not, but the questions he’s asking do seem to go deeper than just a rhetorical set up.  Paul is grappling . . . with the same queries that each of us face from time to time.

What about me? . . . . Why am I struggling in this way or that?

Here’s the only answer I have for us in this moment . . . we’re not all spotted owls or striped cows.

Think about it!
